With its refined atmosphere and diverse programme, the Stadttheater Wiener Neustadt is a hub for cultural exchange and dialogue in the heart of Wiener Neustadt.

A former Carmelite convent has been home to the Stadttheater Wiener Neustadt since 1794. Thanks to its convenient location, just a few minutes’ walk from the main railway station, it is the perfect venue for a cultural evening.

The Gastspielhaus hosts various touring productions, and therefore offers a diverse programme of plays, concerts, cabarets and (as of this year) films. Big-name performers and famous authors often take to the stage here. The programme always offers something for families with children.

Films at the theatre

With the Stadttheater’s new film season, Hollywood returns to the heart of Wiener Neustadt. At least once a month, great films are shown in the unique atmosphere of the Stadttheater, using state-of-the-art cinema technology. A selection of films from around the world, current Austrian films and family favourites are lined up.

As an extra treat - and not just for cinema enthusiasts - visiting actors and directors will lead a public discussion after the film. And if that’s not enough... These film screenings with an inner-city flair will take place on Thursday evenings, when parking is free from midday.
