The Rax-Alm Mountain Inn is not only the summit station of the Rax aerial cableway, but also a starting point for “hut hopping”. As well as a great panorama, hikers enjoy local specialities and warm hospitality.

It is rare that an inn combines such a view with such a convenient mode of transport: On the one hand, the Rax-Alm Mountain Inn offers a dreamlike panoramic view across the valley to Reichenau, as well as to Semmering and Schneeberg. On the other, it can be reached in a comfortable and idyllic way. The inn is in the direct vicinity of the summit station of the Rax aerial cableway, at 1,545m above sea level. It is the starting point for memorable excursions on the Rax Plateau, the perfect place for walking, hiking, mountaineering, or climbing.

The famous goulash served at the Rax-Alm Mountain Inn provides sufficient power for hiking. If you want to spend more time relaxing, you can easily extend your stay. The establishment is one of the certified huts in the Vienna Alps, and offers both overnight and short break packages.

Hiking and “hut hopping”

The summit station of the Rax aerial cableway is the starting point for several hiking and snowshoe tours. If you are “hut hopping”, make a comfortable 100m ascent to the Ottohaus, and then continue at your leisure either to the Neuen Seehütte or Habsburghaus.
