History
Grünbach am Schneeberg was an important supplier of coal after the discovery of a coal deposit in 1823. After the establishment of the coal mine and the extension of the Schneeberg railway line, this became even more important. In 1965 the plant had to be closed due to rising costs for mining operations.
In the local mining museum, a great deal of knowledge about the coal mining industry at that time has been gathered and conveyed to visitors in an entertaining way.
