Into the beautiful green Piestingtal
The Piestingtal valley is full of hiking and biking tours to explore and enjoy the beautiful area and its very special highlights, and the community of Gutenstein in the Gutenstein Alps is no exception.
With the bike it tours, connected to the EuroVelo 9, from Gutenstein to Sollenau or to Rohr im Gebirge. The Piestingtal cycle path always leads along asphalted, level paths, which is why it is also wonderfully suitable for a bicycle excursion with the smaller cyclists.
On foot, you can take the Gutenstein Mariahilf circular trail along forest and meadow paths on a 1.5 hour hike via Längapiesting/Schaftersbach and the Magdalenengrotte grotto to the Mariahilfberg mountain. Impressively designed pilgrimage churches, the Gutenstein castle ruins and Hoyos Castle are just some of the many sights to be discovered on this tour.
Tip: The Forest Farmers' Museum in Gutenstein tells about the numerous sideline trades of the farmers and uses countless exhibits, which are presented contemplatively in the open-air museum - a visit is worthwhile!
