Cosy cycling home base in Austria’s Wechselland: Hubertushof

The cycle-friendly country inn is located directly at the start and end point of the Feistritztal cycle path.

With the Mies family in Trattenbach, you can start the day with freshly baked bread and homemade jam. The Feistritztal cycle path starts right outside the front door, and after the tour, you can relax in the hotel’s own log cabin sauna.

On your bikes, get set, go: the day begins at the idyllically situated country inn in the middle of the cycling paradise of Wechselland. From the lockable bicycle garage run by the accredited cycle host, you make your way directly onto the Feistritztal-Radweg.

Just a few minutes by car from the accommodation, you will find the junction to EuroVelo 9 in Aspang, the Wexl Trails and the Feistritztal-Radweg. The Zauberberg Bike Park can be reached after a 23-kilometre ride. Top tips for e-bikers or racing cyclists: the old Semmering Road and the Adlitzgräben-Strecke.

All about the bike: accessories, workshop and e-charging station

Don’t feel like travelling with excess baggage? You can rent two bikes free of charge at this bike- and biker-friendly location. Drinking bottles and bicycle helmets are available for a small rental fee. If you need to work on your bike, you’ll find the right tools in the workshop (“Schraubeneck”). A charging station for e-bikes is also available.

Arriving back from the tour feeling hungry? Among other things, the Mies family feeds their guests with venison from their own hunting grounds, along with homemade pastries. If you don’t want to miss any culinary highlights, simply order the “Hubertushofplatte”. The next morning, it’s off to the next cycling adventure with a full breakfast.
