A beautiful snowshoe hike from Losenheim to Mamauwiese.
Description
This tour leads to the beautifully situated Mamauwiese guest house. From this sunny spot, you have a clear view of the Schneeberg, where you may be able to spot some touring skiers descending into Lahning Ries.

Route description Snowshoe hike to Mamauwiese from Losenheim
From the Schneeberg chairlift valley station, we follow the red trail up to Mamauwiese and over the waterfall, then onto Sonnleiten. From there, we follow the yellow trail to Losenheim. From here, we follow the blue trail back to the valley station.
Directions
Take the A2 to Wiener Neustadt West and then follow the B26 towards Puchberg. Once in Puchberg follow the signs to Losenheim and Schneeberg chairlift.
Parking
Parking available at Edelweißhütte/Preiner Gscheid.
Take the regional train from Vienna towards Payerbach-Reichenau via Wiener Neustadt as far as the terminus. Take a taxi to Edelweißhütte/Parkplatz/Preiner Gscheid or regional bus 1748 (towards Prein/Rax Gh Oberer Eggl) as far as Edelweißhütte, Preiner Gscheid.

Preparation
When choosing a route, make sure it corresponds to your experience and physical fitness level. Check the weather forecast before you set off. The weather can change surprisingly quickly in the mountains. Always take appropriate equipment with you (e.g. rain protection).
Check whether the cabins and snack stations you intend to visit along the way are open. Inform someone before you set off of your chosen route and when you plan to return.
