Description
With the Höllentalbahn from Payerbach to Hirschwang
From mid-June to around mid-October, you can embark on a special journey every Sunday and public holiday. Because then the Höllentalbahn starts from the station Payerbach-Reichenau along its 5 km long route to Hirschwang - and back.
What to expect on a ride with the Höllentalbahn:
- Ride with historic cars: up to 8 times a day, the four-axle passenger railcar TW1 pulls the passenger car BW21 (and additionally BW11 if needed) back and forth between Reichenau and Hirschwang. Along the route you have a magnificent view of the Rax.
- Adventure trips: 3 times a day, you can use the break at the respective terminus to take part in a guided tour through the electric forming plant in Payerbach or through the vehicle shed in Hirschwang - guided tours are included in the train ticket. More about timetable and guided tour times
- Train ride and hike: If you like hiking, it is best to take the first train in the direction of Hirschwang. From there it's a few minutes' walk to the Rax cable car. Then take the last train back to Payerbach-Reichenau.
