Burgruine Kirchschlag
Description
Kirchschlag in der Buckligen Welt has a historical significance as a fortified border town. This is documented by several architectural monuments, such as the castle ruins with the fire tower. The castle is located at 480 meters and was built in the 12th century. Today, remains of the former border fortress still stand and the fire tower serves as a lookout point over the landscape of the Bucklige Welt. Events, such as the Kirchschlager Advent Market, also take place at the castle ruins.
